rPath Linux 0.51 (Alpha) available (x86 and x86_64)

rPath Linux 0.51 is released.

rPath Linux 0.50 was released but never announced due to a few problems with installation, particularly that minimal installations did not work with software RAID and LVM. Since rPath Linux 0.25, the entire distribution has been rebuilt, and most packages have been updated to the latest version at the time of the update.

KDM cannot be used as a Desktop Manager in rPath Linux 0.50 or 0.51 due to a bug in xorg-x11=6.8.2-17 (included in these images) and earlier. You must use GDM or XDM to log into your KDE sessions. This bug has been addressed in xorg-x11=6.8.2-18 and later.

After installing rPath Linux 0.51, make sure to update conary to the latest version, following ConaryConversion to resolve any conversion issues.

Why is kdm not working? Any kde version without kdm working is not good.

At startup there was some missing file
/usr/lib/la/sadc

Can i find more information about this somewhere, ie the task of this file?

kdm should be fixed in the next version, except that kde is not working on x86_64. The /usr/lib/la/sadc bug is fixed in the next version. Feel free to file bug reports at http://bugs.rpath.com/
