Elliot's Blog
I have moved my blog to http://blog.bentlogic.net for anyone looking for a feed url it is http://blog.bentlogic.net/feed.
Today I released two appliances that I have been working on recently, a Remote Login Appliance and a Pastebin Appliance. We use both of these internaly for our login box and pastebin.
The Login Appliance started out as a replacement for the machine that we have been using for shell, mail reading, irc, screen, ssh, etc. and turned into a more general purpose login box for everyone. I thought other people might find it useful so I cut a release and published it here. The appliance has gone through a few revisions since we have been using it for a couple of weeks.
The Pastebin Appliance was spawned by people complaining about all the slow pastebins out there. Pastebin was not written to scale well. It is a very small amount of php which glues apache and mysql together. With rBuilder Online and conary I was able to take pastebin, which wasn't packaged, and turn it into an appliance in about an hour yesterday afternoon. Today I have a published release that works right out of the box. The great thing about pastebin is that it is mostly "throw away" data. You can boot the image, let people use it for awhile, and then just start a new one when you want to start over.

rPath has just switched from Bugzilla to JIRA for all of our issue and bug tracking!
For old bugzilla users, we were able to import all of your accounts and bugs, however JIRA does not know how to import passwords from Bugzilla. You will need to go to either http://issues.rpath.com/ or http://bugs.rpath.com/ and request that your password be sent to you. If you are having any problems someone will normally be around on irc (irc.freenode.net #conary) to help out.
