Django: 07:56:27 am
I found a link to a new web development framework for Python called Django which purports to be Rails for Python. It was linked from Ryan Tomayko's lesscode.org project. He is the author of an excellent Python-based templating system, Kid. Django looks very powerful, and I'm pretty eager to try it. I've thought for a while that Python needed (and deserved) something like Rails. Hopefully this will be it.
Work on the house continues. I ordered a set of recessed lights for the kitchen to replacing the aging track lighting. We also just removed the popcorn ceiling in the dining room anticipation for a new paint job and dining room furniture. It went a lot better this time than last time. We laid down plastic, taped plastic to the walls, and snaked the garden hose indoors. Spraying the ceiling texture with the "mist" attachment really sped the process up. Cleanup was easier, too. We just pulled out the plastic, rinsed ourselves off, and vacuumed. I think that instead of sanding the spots that remain, we'll just get one of those industrial-sized sponges and wash it off. The scraper tends to make a lot of dents in the ceiling drywall's taped sections.
